Rose Richardson is on the run from her Senator husband, fearing for her life. After a bitter divorce she hears him talking about having her mugged and shot. She hit the road from North Carolina, changed her appearance, bought new clothes and changed her name. The only thing she kept was her Bassett Hound, Bella. She headed to a tiny town in upstate Connecticut on a lake, and was looking forward to just catching her breath and hiding out. One problem, someone was already there! Leo Drake is a Pulitzer Prize winning writer, with writer’s block and a book due. Ever since his wife passed away, his mind has gone blank. He holed up in the house away from everyone so he could have silence. He is the co-owner of the house with his estranged brother. Not knowing he was there, their realtor rented the house to Rose, who is now Emma. As hard as he tries to convince her to leave she refuses….she has no where else to go.
The characters are wonderful and Bella is a very enjoyable part of the story. Despite his unwelcoming stance, Leo falls under the charm of the sweet dog and Emma, much to his shock. They are very attracted to each other, but their secrets hold them back. Things disappearing, money gone, and a ghost? Emma refuses to accept that the house is haunted and trying to get rid of her!
A story with laughs, some danger and sizzle and an awesome dog. A very fun read.
Bella Luna can be read as a stand alone, but it is the third in the Blue Moon Lake Romance series. I am going to read book 1 & 2 to get the full story.
I received this novel from the publisher and NetGalley for an honest review.
