Book Blurb:

The heartbreak of their childhood drove the Morgan brothers far from their family’s California ranch—and one another. But as they face the wounds of the past, each feels the land calling him home . . .

Blue Morgan never thought he’d crave long days on horseback, working the cattle ranch where he grew up. But after a decade of getting shouted and shot at in the Marines, fresh air and hard work are just what he needs to settle his restless energy. Except no matter how hard he tries to focus, his mind wanders to the pretty, prickly new veterinarian instead.

There’s no denying the spark between Jenna McDonald and Blue. But with her job at risk and her own family’s expectations to wrangle, Jenna isn’t looking for another sparring partner. Blue needs her expertise on horses. And if she can help solve his mother’s disappearance, she’s willing to pitch in. But she’ll leave his ideas about how love should be scheduled to him. Jenna is tired of being told what she can’t have—and ready to reach for what she wants . . .

Review:

This is a brand new author to me and I’m so glad I found her.
Morgan Ranch is a successful working ranch that the owners have hopes to make a destination Dude Ranch. The Morgan son’s left the ranch years ago with no intention of coming back, but the oldest, Chase, has reconciled with his father and come home. Chase has made millions running his own company and wants to save the ranch with his earnings.

BB (Blue) Morgan is returning after twelve years in the military. When he was young, all he wanted to do was get away……he’s has been through a lot, and now wants to come back home. Working the ranch is his happy place. His grandmother Ruth, and his recovering alcoholic father welcome him with open arms. Blue and Chase are working to restore their relationship.

Jenna McDonald is working in her uncle’s veterinary office, recently graduated and enjoying the work, despite a number of patients that think she is too young and inexperienced. Her cousin Dave also a Vet, suggests she take care of the Marshall horses and various pets and animals, which could turn into a full-time job. Jenna’s only concern is Blue……tall dark and handsome alpha vet/cowboy. There is an instant attraction that Blue and Jenna try to fight, neither willing to commit. Jenna was a foster child adopted by wealthy parents who tried to give her everything. But she never seemed to live up to their ideals. Now she is on her own and in charge of her life, she’s just not ready to give it all up for a very sexy cowboy.

The romance sizzles, and secrets from their pasts bring them closer. This is not a cliff hanger at all, but there is one mystery that is not quite solved, and twin brothers that need to come home. This novel can be read as a stand alone, but I enjoyed the writing so well I’m adding book one to my TBR.
