He can protect anything except his heart.
Leese Phelps’s road hasn’t been an easy one, but it’s brought him to the perfect job—working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who’s threatening her.
What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who’d believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese’s ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honor. He’s the last person she expects to trust—and the first who’s ever made her feel safe. And he’s the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough…
UNDER PRESSURE is the first book in Lori Foster’s brand new series called Body Armour. Sahara Silver took over the bodyguard agency after her brother was killed. Apparently there is something suspicious going on regarding his death because she has a PI looking into it and I believe that will be an ongoing storyline throughout the series. Sahara likes to hire ripped, hunky, extremely capable men. And who fits that description better than ex-MMA fighters? Leese Phelps, ex-fighter, is our hero in UNDER PRESSURE. Catalina (Cat) Nicholson is our heroine. Cat overheard something she shouldn’t have and has to go on the run to protect herself. Cat’s stepfather has hired Body Armor to locate and protect her but he’s also one of the people she’s running from. Leese catches up with Cat just in time and rescues her from the goons that were sent to get her. So, Catalina tells him most of the whole story, withholding the name of a very important person. She’s thinking that she’s keeping him ‘safe’ by not revealing everything. After Sahara hears the story she decides she will take down all of the bad guys and make them pay. And Leese will keep Cat safe until that happens. Needless to say Cat and Leese are fighting their attraction to each other. Well, Leese is fighting it because of the bodyguard/client situation and Cat is not one bit shy when it comes to telling him she wants him. It was fun to see the female seducing the male and him trying his best to resist. I very much enjoyed this book. Justice (another ex-MMA fighter) is Leese’s partner in the beginning and then he gets a different assignment. I’m looking forward to reading his book and finding out more about Sahara and her brother. I’ve mentioned before that Lori Foster is one of my favorite authors. I’ve read every one of her books and most of them I’ve read more than once. You just can’t go wrong with a Lori Foster book.
