From the New York Times Bestselling authors of Cocky Bastard and Stuck-Up Suit, comes a sexy new standalone novel.
I met Bianca in an elevator.
She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.
She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”―her afternoon appointment.
Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type―snobby, over educated, silver-spooned men who didn’t appreciate the simple things in life.
So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t―a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn’t want it to end.
I began dating her as “Jay”―all the while letting her interview the real me over email.
I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.
And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.
Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for what came after.
All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.
Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive.—Sir Walter Scott
I’ve loved every word this dynamic duo has written to date, and Mister Moneybags is no exception. Keeland and Ward always showcase their characters to the maximum potential. And Dex Truitt and Bianca George had me from the get-go. A storyline packed to the brim with all those special feelings that readers expect and appreciate in a topnotch romance. And who doesn’t love a good elevator scene — especially one that incites buckets full of laughter and great dialogue. The infiltration by a different strain of drama definitely keeps the pace rolling forward. Embroiled in an entanglement of painful circumstances and well-kept secrets, several unsuspecting parties will be affected by the revelations. The book blurb gives plenty of hints to tease and intrigue, and I’m not about to spill any others.
Told from dual first person points of view, including some delightfully sexy text messaging between the parties, only enhances the quality of the storytelling. The two main characters (possibly three!) will amuse and engage. They are passionate, appealing and full of life. With a touch of destiny lending a hand, their romance is moving, sweet and slow-building and stunning. With its wide-ranged plotline that introduces the families into the mix, hot and sizzling chemistry, and lots of laughter and finally, an eye-opening twist that will hit the bulls-eye, you are never going to be bored.
Dex was a super hero all the way around. A gorgeous millionaire, sexy, funny – but more importantly, he’s solid and kind and filled with an intensely passionate dedication to his core. With his heart set on Bianca, there was no turning back. Gotta admit, Dex and Jay both stole my heart – even when they were playing unfairly.
As a free-lance journalist, Bianca is the epitome of smart, strong and determined heroines. She doesn’t play games and she hates liars – with good reason. And watch out if you end up on her bad side and revenge ensues! But she’s got a soft side as well. And dang that double dose of gorgeous temptation who has stolen her heart!
One thing is for sure – it took more than just one stroke of fate and a dark elevator ride to bring this charming and engaging couple together for the long haul. Dex Truitt a/k/a Jay Reed and Bianca George are characters that you can really sink your teeth into. Just like the authors who created them, Dex, Jay and Bianca have so many sides to explore.
A remarkable and favorite addition to the story is Jelani Okiro, a wise and patient older man, who becomes a friend and mentor to Dex. I will never see a small carved wooden animal again without thinking of Mr. Okiro. And there might also be a really sweet and lovable fur-covered character who will also put a smile on your face.
I found this to be a compelling story that was sexy, heartwarming and so much more. Full of surprises and delights from start to finish. Amazeballs as always!
