Zoe Plum was one of the top wedding planners in San Francisco. She earned the title by always being prepared for every glitch that could possibly happen. Her talent is being sorely tested for the Fisher-Wells wedding, the event of the season. From broken a/c in the church, the priest sick, a Bridezilla who can’t fit in her dress, and a very late groomsman, Zoe handles it all with her assistant Natalie. Her right hand for the last couple years, Natalie has seemed to be distracted, running late and just not her usual efficient self lately. A problem for another day. But this wedding is a train wreck.
Levi Dolan, musician, rocker extraordinaire is the substitute groomsman and not happy about it. The only positive in this event is meeting Zoe, who hustled him into wedding gear lecturing the whole time. Feisty…..he liked that. When he steps in as substitute organ player, Zoe is blown away. Turns out this is just the tip of the iceberg that is Levi. They are thrown together numerous times and when her personal life starts to get dangerous he steps up as savior and protector. Levi has his work cut out for him.
This novel is lighthearted, and the banter between Zoe and Levi is hysterical. The mystery will keep you guessing till the end, and the wiener dogs are everywhere.
You can’t help but love Freddy, Zoe’s rescue dog. My only disappointment was that the story seemed to carry on a little too long, but is still a delightful read.
