After years away from home, Camryn Everett ran from the big city back to her home in Tyler. The rest of her family is settled and happy, and she is… lost. Lost without a show, lost without a stage, lost without a direction. When she’s finally given a direction, she’s put right in the path of her childhood unrequited love, Carter Jamieson.
Carter has loved Camryn for longer than he will ever admit and promised long ago to leave her alone, but being thrown together–and put in danger– changes everything.
Amidst gunshots, history, and family connections, their love grows… As long as they can stay alive long enough to pursue it.

If you haven’t read the first three books in this series, you’re missing a treat. In this, the fourth book, Ms. Braeburn has really upped her game. In my opinion, this is the best of the series.
Camryn has had a crush on Carter since she was very young, having tried to seduce him once, with no success. What she doesn’t know is that Carter has been in love with her since long before it was appropriate. Ahem….he’s ten years older and her brother’s best friend. Really, really inappropriate.
Romance for the Everetts seem to have a way of working out after a while…and some drama…and some kidnapping. The Everett family is very wealthy, and there is always some idiot around who either has a grudge or wants a piece of the family wealth. So…all of Camryn’s siblings have been kidnapped, and it’s one of her biggest fears…she does not want to be next. Kidnapping is a family tradition she would love to avoid.
I won’t say too much about the story, remember that this is romance, so there is a happy place somewhere down the road. What I will say is that I have fallen in love with all the secondary characters in Tyler. The poor police department has been stretched thin over the years trying to protect the town’s most prominent family, and they have become characters that I always look forward to seeing again and again. I feel their pain.
I think everyone will enjoy this book and this series. Ms. Braeburn is a talented writer with an uncanny ability to draw the reader into the world she has created. Her style is as smooth as silk, and flows beautifully. Grab a copy and…
Don’t forget the other books in this delightful series!
